Mason Cash has been the choice of home cooks and bakers for centuries. The origins of Mason Cash can be traced back to a pottery operating at Church Gresley in the heart of the English ceramic industry in 1800. Church Gresley was located close to all the raw material and fuel sources required to make ceramics and had fantastic transport links to take finished goods all over the UK and the world.

The pottery was run by a series of Master Potters of whom the most colourful was ‘Bossy’ Mason, which is where the ‘Mason’ name came from in the 1800’s. Tom Cash acquired the pottery in 1901 and renamed the company Mason Cash & Co.

Mason Cash had been producing mixing bowls during the 1800’s, but in 1901 they designed and manufactured the very first iconic Mason Cash mixing bowl. The design of the bowl has endured the test of time and has become something of a design classic. In fact, the design has barely altered since then, which is why the brand is still renowned for its innovative, classic kitchenware today.

A design classic, the Mason Cash Cane mixing bowls were first developed in 1901, but are still as relevant today. Made from earthenware, the mixing bowl is light enough to hold in one arm while mixing, but sturdy enough when using on the counter top, making it the perfect bowl for home or professional bakers. The distinct patterned exterior and rim is designed to help bakers grip and tip the bowl, while the wide shallow shape allows for kneading within the bowl. The Size 12 Cane Mixing bowl measures 29cm x 14cm, with a capacity of 4 litres, making this a perfect size for dough, pastry, cake or cookie mixes. The bowl is dishwasher and freezer safe. The traditional cane colour has been a classic for Mason Cash for centuries, with a high-gloss glaze providing a chip resistant finish.
